The original idea of the Carroda Pass was that it would take place in a DnD universe (not necessarily the two mains being actual player characters, just that Bryn was an Elf barbarian and Siv a goblin wizard). I ended up mostly taking it all in a different direction with the world, but I do steal lore when it's background enough and I can't be bothered.
